Forgotten Dates and Dancing :)

Posted by: Karla in

So, in the haste of school, all my AP workload, many of the release date for books that I was dying to read have vanished from my mind. *sigh* This week was the first week I had gone to WalMart in a while and I went to the book section, What do I see? The Last Sacrifice. NightStar. Crescendo. I have no money :( and for Christmas I want some KPop CDs. My family is always tight on money so to get more than a couple of CDs is not very possible. Maybe in January :) For now, I am off on books except required history reading and book club books, currently The Adoration of Jenna Fox *awesome*. Also, recently I have been watching a lot of dance covers and I love this one, Hope you enjoy it ^^

Hello:)
I haven't been posting anything lately, actually for months ^^
School has started and I have been OVERWHELMED.
I have discovered new things. I have become interested in new things, but I have not lost my love for reading though my time for reading has been killed . Grades for the first trimester are not what I'm accustomed to, so much so that I had to prep myself for the day that grades would be final and I would no longer have a 4.0. I don't think I was so much worried because I thought I was doomed, but I knew that it was something that people were not going to expect, and I am some one that likes to meet expectations.
I found the new stats thing interesting. I have had people view my page in South Korea, which is awesome since recently I have made South Korea a place I want to live one day; having fallen in love with KPop. I have always been one to like what most don't or don't know of, and this is no exception since very few people know of KPop, well at least around me :) I recommend it. If you not into pop music, then listen to 2AM or SM The Ballad. It's in Korean but that does not take away from its magnificence.

I will hopefully post more soon, I fell like I need to- for myself :)

WAH! ^^

June Grade Reports

Posted by: Karla

Since I wasn't blogging a lot in June and I still wanted to kind of show what I thought about the books I read through June, I made this Grade Report. It's hard for me to give a rating sometimes wbecause I don't know what to base it on completely so I decided to make a score sheet. The new ratng system is up. If you click on the pictures it will link you to the books Goodreads page. Hopefully I can start bloggin and posting more soon. My summer is about to get more busy soon though. :)

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare

August 31st 2010 by Margaret K. McElderry

From Goodreads- Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: Jem, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

I'm sure that a lot of people are waiting for this one. I cannot wait to read it. I loved the TMI series. It's the only series I fully own :)

Random Update

Posted by: Karla

HeyHiHello!
I'm sorry I haven't been posting reviews and updating very often. I haven't been able to read a lot since it's coming down to the last week of school and I've been having to read Lord of the Flies. Hopefully I get to read more this week and those following since I won't be in school. I am starting and continuing White Cat and A Clockwork Orange. This summer has a lot of work. I already went to my AP US History Mandatory meeting and I know my summer assignment and Monday I have AP Language/English meeting and I will get my summer assignment. I'm also a part of Leo Club and we have a new...person, I don't know what to call him, we are going to be doing more service projects over the summer:) I like Leo Club, I'll miss Mrs.Smith. This summer will be busy but nothing will keep me from reading the YA books I love and look forward to, which are A LOT :).
I promise to have more soon. Have an amazingly fantastic day :)

Ughh

Posted by: Karla

So I know this really has nothing, kind of, to do with books and such but I feel so mad about it so I wanted to just vent about it. It's kind of random but hence the name Karla's Randomness :)

So today during English, I don't know how we got the subject, the girl next to me says that her cousin who is younger than her, we're 16, is and has been doing drugs since she was 12. 12!! I know our town isn't great but that is still so young. I asked her if she has told her cousins parents and she said no because she didn't want to be a snitch. I find that very wrong and selfish. I am usually a calm person and I try to keep it that way but when I said the next thing I heard a harsh tone in my voice, I don't know if anyone else heard it though. I told her that it doesn't matter if she was a snitch. If I was in her position I would have talked to my cousin and told her parents. She replied by saying that she didn't want to be a snitch. I don't get it. Being a snitch shouldn't matter if someone close to you is putting themselves in danger. So I said, this is getting to the hole "I said...so then she said..." kind of thing isn't it?, if I were you and I hadn't told anyone and one day she gets hurt or overdoses I would blame it on me and not be able to live with myself seeing her parents in family in grief. She told me that her cousin would never overdose she isn't stupid like that. If she wasn't stupid then she wouldn't be doing drugs in the first place. That is when someone else in the group changed the subject by asking what kind of drugs her cousin did. I don't know if she knew I was getting angry or not but oh well.*sigh*
The conversation just aggravated me. It's not the first time a topic that aggravates me comes up during English. I've known this girl since elementary. I guess I believed a lot of the people I knew for a long time thought the way I thought on that subject and others like having sex as a teen, but I am terribly wrong. I just don't get it but that's a different subject. I would love to talk about it but this is already too long :). I kinda feel less jumbled up about it...thank you blogger :). What are your thoughts on drugs? What would you do?
